07/01/2013 LEAMANS PREDICT THE 2013 LETTINGS MARKET WILL BE STRONG

Here at Leamans, we believe that the coming year will show that the lettings market in Exeter and the surrounding district will continue to grow and prosper, particularly in respect of demand from the most lucrative sector consisting of 'Young Professionals', a group which comprises people who have to be flexible and mobile within the careers market which often demands the ability to move to a new location at short notice. Under such circumstances, having a home to sell when changing location for a job move means that the rentals market is the obvious and only place to turn to rather than looking to be an owner/occupier.

Luckily the local economy for Exeter is well-supported by the ample major employers in the area who attract high quality personnel, many of whom will be looking for decent property to in which to make a home. Add to this that the employment-generating land at Sky Park near the airport will soon be attracting more established and forward-looking businesses who will be likely to be bringing work forces with them as well as opening up new career opportunities. All this will enhance the demand for decent housing (mostly one- and two-bedroom houses and apartments) in Exeter and East Devon.

Leamans are happy to provide guidelines for both our existing landlords as well as new prospective clients when they are seeking to invest in residential property - clearly property type and locality are important issues but other matters such as presentation are equally as important to ensure that an investment will perform to best advantage.
